Parallel User Workshops

The official introduction of all workshops is scheduled on Thurday in the afternoon,
and all parallel workshops will be held on Friday, October 25, 2019.

You can register for workshops via the registration form or send an e-mail to Romana Kočová (Romana.Kocova@eli-beams.eu).

Participants are asked to register, the deadline for registration is the 11th October 2019.

I / ELIMAIA: Laser Driven Acceleration and Aplications

The workshop is organized by the Research Program 3 (Particle Acceleration by Lasers) team developing secondary particle sources and end stations. The workshop aims to bring together various user groups working on the development and applications of advanced laser-driven ion sources. Commissioning experiments at the recently installed user beamline ELIMAIA (ELI Multidisciplinary Applications of laser-Ion Acceleration) will be discussed along with initial performances of the beamline and future scientific and technological directions to be pursued together with the ELI user community.

Workshop web page available here.

II / Laser-Driven X-Ray Sources and Application

The workshop is jointly organized by the teams developing secondary X-ray sources and X-ray end stations. The scope of the workshop encompasses such radiation sources as a plasma X-ray source (PXS) and betatron sources as well as the techniques that employ radiation of the sources - X-ray diffractometry, scattering, spectroscopy, Warm Dense Matter (WDM) and radiolysis. The workshop aims to bring together theoretical and experimental research groups working on the development and applications of advanced X-ray sources. The scope of the workshop is to discuss recent achievements and perspectives in high-energy science and to build the user community around ELI X-ray sources and stations.

III / Laser Wakefield Acceleration and Applications

ELI User Workshop on Laser wakefield acceleration and applications is a satellite workshop to the 3rd International Conference on Extreme Light 2019 (ICEL 2019) organized by the Research Program 2 “Radiation physics and electron acceleration”. The scope of the workshop is to bring together theoretical and experimental research groups to discuss recent achievements and future directions, in view of building a user community around the laser wakefield acceleration beamlines.

IV / Industrial Applications

Partnership and collaboration of excellent research infrastructures with top-end industrial companies bring new approaches, ideas, and skills. Companies have an opportunity to significantly increase value for their product portfolio with industrial, medical, and other applications developed at ELI Beamlines. These technologies have been designed to be exploited in a number of applications, such as cancer treatment, chemistry, culture heritage, advanced materials characterisation, energetics and others.
